Cara Corneau MA Psychotherapist
Children’s identities are shaped by their environments (family, friends, school, community, social media, etc), which means there are opportunities for exposure to multiple influences. As a therapist, I approach mental health with children through this lens and support each child and their family with openness, understanding and acceptance. I have worked within mental health for over 10 years, supporting children, families and parents through varying experiences. I attended Saint Michael’s College as an undergraduate and graduate student. I completed my Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2019. I specialize in working with children and families who have experienced trauma, anxiety and depression. Strategies implemented in the therapeutic setting include Trauma-Informed Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Play-Based Therapy. Often, families are an integral part of mental health and parental/caregiver involvement is encouraged when appropriate to meet individual needs. I love spending time outdoors, whether it’s hiking to different peaks or paddling the beautiful waterways of Vermont.
